Great Christmas Ideas for Nerds

• Prime Obsession by John Derbyshire. How can a nerd not love a book about number theory?
• The Future of Spacetime by Stephen William Hawking (editor) and a bunch of other guys. If you need to know what's going on in the next few billion years this is the book to read. Of course, in the long-term we're all dead.
• The Music of the Primes : Searching to Solve the Greatest Mystery in Mathematics by Marcus du Sautoy. Um, okay, maybe I need to read more books about how to pick up women or something. Despite the whole Greatest Mystery angle I don't think witty remarks about the distribution of prime numbers is going to get me laid anytime soon
• The X in Sex: How the X Chromosome Controls Our Lives by David Bainbridge. What I really need is a book titled The I in Sex. Still I skimmed through the book and it looks really fasinating, as Spock would say.
